Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) is a consortium of school districts and county schools that are organized in geographical region of sufficient size and scope to provide for all special education service needs of children residing within the region boundaries (REF LINK)
The region where Paramount is located includes partnership with the school districts of Bellflower and Lynwood and together is referred to as the “Mid-Cities SELPA”.
One important outreach of the Mid-Cities SELPA includes family education workshops. Family education workshop events are held monthly and provide essential information on topics such as learning strategies, assistive technologies and IEP participation.
