Paramount Adult School Commencement Ceremony Celebrates Life-Changing Milestones

The Paramount Adult School Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2025 was more than just a graduation—it was a powerful celebration of perseverance, transformation, and new beginnings. Held with great pride and heartfelt emotion, the ceremony recognized the outstanding accomplishments of adult learners who have overcome significant obstacles to reach their educational, personal, and career goals.

In a packed auditorium filled with proud families and friends, the evening spotlighted students who completed programs across English as a Second Language, U.S. Citizenship, Career Technical Education—including Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, and Information Technology—as well as High School Equivalency and High School Diploma programs. Each certificate and diploma marked a pivotal step in a student’s journey toward greater independence and opportunity.

Carrying American flags with gratitude and pride, Citizenship students were celebrated for passing their national exams—many with joyful tears and messages of hope. Others earned credentials in high-demand, workforce-ready fields like healthcare and technology, providing a clear path to stable careers and economic growth.

The evening featured moving speeches from student leaders Litzy Ortega, Sarah Rhoden, Tynesia Smith, and Samantha Toj, who shared stories of resilience and determination that deeply resonated with all in attendance.

The ceremony was attended by Paramount Unified School District Board President Alicia Anderson, Vice President Sonia De Leon, and Board Member Eddie Cruz. District leadership included Superintendent Dr. Joshua Lightle, Deputy Superintendent Dr. Linsey Gotanda, Assistant Superintendent Dr. William Nelson, and Assistant Superintendent Patricia Tu.

Paramount Adult School was proudly represented by Principal Ebony Jordan, Assistant Principal Hector Lujan, and Counselor Lucia Covarrubias, with support from Mina Olmos and Amanda Langer. The school’s dedicated faculty and staff were also in attendance, celebrating alongside the students whose lives they have helped shape.
